Ngày 15.8, Cơ quan CSĐT Công an TP.HCM đã thông tin kết quả điều tra ban đầu vụ án mạng xảy ra ngày 13.9 tại xã Phước Hải (Báo Thanh Niên đã thông tin).

Theo đó, Cơ quan CSĐT Công an TP.HCM đã ra lệnh giữ người trong trường hợp khẩn cấp đối với Nguyễn Trí Hào (24 tuổi, ở xã Phước Hải) điều tra làm rõ về hành vi giết người.
Như Thanh Niên thông tin, khoảng 18 giờ 20 ngày 13.9, ông T. (xã Phước Hải) đang xem tivi ở nhà thì Hào cầm mã tấu vào nhà chém ông T. chết tại chỗ.
Lúc này, vợ ông T. đang ở phía sau nghe tiếng kêu la chạy lên liền bị Hào chém trên đầu. Anh L. nghe tiếng mẹ vợ kêu cứu nên từ trên lầu chạy xuống can ngăn cũng bị Hào chém nhiều nhát vào tay, chân.
Sau khi chém các nạn nhân, Hào bỏ trốn khỏi hiện trường và bị bắt trên đường bỏ trốn tại phường Long Hương.
Anh L. cùng mẹ vợ của mình được đưa đến Bệnh viện đa khoa Bà Rịa cấp cứu. Anh L. bị nhiều vết chém ở tay và chân, có vết thương làm đứt gân tay. Mẹ vợ anh L. bị chém trên vùng đầu nhưng không nguy hiểm đến tính mạng.
Theo thông tin của Cơ quan CSĐT Công an TP.HCM về vụ án mạng, Hào và chị P.T.M.H (36 tuổi, con gái ông T.) trước đây có quan hệ tình cảm nhưng đã chia tay.
Sau khi chấp hành xong quyết định đưa vào cơ sở cai nghiện bắt buộc, Hào trở về địa phương và biết chị H. đã kết hôn với người khác nên nảy sinh thù tức.
Ngày 13.9, sau khi nhậu say, Hào mang theo dao đến nhà chị H. với mục đích tìm gặp chị H., thời điểm này chị H. không có mặt tại nhà.
Tại đây, Hào dùng dao tấn công ông T., bà L.T.M (66 tuổi, vợ ông T.) và và anh N.V.L (34 tuổi, con rể ông T.) như thông tin nêu trên.
