Theo Đài Khí tượng thủy văn Nam bộ, hiện mây giông tiếp tục phát triển mạnh, khả năng gây mưa lớn trên phần lớn các phường xã ở TP.HCM. Bênh cạnh đó, mưa lớn diện rộng ở TP.Đồng Nai, Tây Ninh, Đồng Tháp và Vĩnh Long. Lượng mưa phổ biến từ 28 - 140 mm, có nơi mưa rất lớn với lượng trên 180 mm.

Hiện tại, triều cường vẫn trong giai đoạn đạt đỉnh, nhiều trạm đo ở các hệ thống sông phổ biến ở mức báo động 3. Người dân cần hết sức chú ý đề phòng khả năng ngập nặng do triều cường kết hợp mưa lớn trong sáng nay.
Những ngày mưa, mưa lớn kết hợp triều cường cao đã khiến nhiều khu vực ở TP.HCM chìm trong biển nước gây đảo lộn sinh hoạt thường nhật của rất nhiều người. Dự báo từ ngày 1.10, đỉnh triều trên sông Sài Gòn và mưa lớn sẽ giảm dần.
