Ngày 22.3, Công an xã Chân Mây - Lăng Cô cùng một số đơn vị nghiệp vụ đang tiến hành điều tra, làm rõ nguyên nhân vụ tai nạn xe máy trước hầm Phú Gia (trên quốc lộ 1) khiến nam thanh niên và một nữ sinh 14 tuổi tử vong.

Theo thông tin ban đầu, lúc 4 giờ 52 cùng ngày, anh N.V.T (21 tuổi, trú tại 94 Dạ Lê, phường Thanh Thủy, thành phố Huế) điều khiển xe máy biển số 75AC-035.xx lưu thông trên quốc lộ 1 hướng Huế - Đà Nẵng, trên xe chở theo em T.T.N.H (14 tuổi, trú thôn Ba Lăng, xã Phú Hồ, thành phố Huế).
Khi đến tại Km1+600 đường dẫn phía bắc hầm Phú Gia, thôn Phú Gia, xã Chân Mây - Lăng Cô thì xe tông vào bên phải lan can người đi bộ (ngay cửa hầm Phú Gia), tự gây tai nạn. Hậu quả anh T. và em H. tử vong tại chỗ, xe máy hư hỏng nặng.
Nhận được tin báo, lực lượng chức năng đã có mặt bảo vệ hiện trường, tiến hành khám nghiệm để phục vụ công tác điều tra. Đến nay, thi thể của 2 nạn nhân đã được bàn giao để người nhà lo hậu sự.
