Khoảng 6 giờ 25 cùng ngày, trong lúc tắm tại biển Mỹ Khê, 3 người gồm 2 nam, 1 nữ bất ngờ gặp dòng chảy mạnh, bị cuốn ra xa bờ. Các nạn nhân phát tín hiệu cầu cứu.
