Ngày 10.10, cơ quan chức năng TP.HCM đang điều tra nguyên nhân xe khách bốc cháy khi đang chạy trên đường 30 Tháng 4, phường Phước Thắng.

Theo thông tin ban đầu, hơn 21 giờ ngày 9.10, xe khách loại 16 chỗ ngồi của nhà xe T.T, do nam tài xế điều khiển hướng từ phường Bà Rịa đi phường Vũng Tàu.
Khi xe khách chạy đến khu vực trước nhà thờ Nam Bình, đường 30 Tháng 4, phường Phước Thắng thì bị bốc cháy.
Tài xế xe cho biết, trước khi xe khách bị cháy, trên taplo báo bình điện có dấu hiệu bất thường. Tuy nhiên, tài xế vẫn cho xe chạy bình thường.
Một lúc sau, khi xe đến trước nhà thờ Nam Bình thì có dấu hiệu tắt máy. Tài xế đã cho xe tấp vào lề đường kiểm tra thì xe bốc cháy dữ dội.
Tài xế cùng người dân xung quanh đã dùng các vật dụng, phương tiện sẵn có để dập lửa nhưng không thể khống chế đám cháy đang bùng phát dữ dội.
Nhận tin báo, lực lượng chức năng đã điều động xe cứu hỏa đến dập lửa. Ngọn lửa được khống chế sau 10 phút, nhưng lúc này xe khách đã bị cháy trơ khung. Vụ cháy không gây thiệt hại về người.
