Ngày 2.10, thông tin từ Đồn biên phòng cửa khẩu quốc tế La Lay (Ban chỉ huy Bộ đội biên phòng tỉnh Quảng Trị) cho biết vừa phối hợp Phòng Quản lý xuất nhập cảnh Công an tỉnh Quảng Trị trục xuất, trao trả 9 người Lào có hành vi nhập cảnh trái phép vào Việt Nam.
Trước đó, tại thôn A Bung (xã La Lay, tỉnh Quảng Trị), lực lượng chức năng phát hiện Hồ Văn Nghèo (39 tuổi, ở thôn A Bung) điều khiển phương tiện chở theo 2 người quốc tịch Lào. Qua kiểm tra, cả 2 người này không có giấy tờ tùy thân, nhập cảnh trái phép từ Lào.

Tiếp tục khám xét khẩn cấp nơi ở của Nghèo, lực lượng chức năng phát hiện 7 người quốc tịch Lào khác không có giấy tờ tùy thân, giấy tờ xuất nhập cảnh theo quy định.
Mở rộng điều tra, Đồn biên phòng cửa khẩu quốc tế La Lay phát hiện thêm Hồ Thị Khanh (30 tuổi, ở xã A Lưới 5, thành phố Huế) và Hồ Thị A Út (37 tuổi, ở thôn a Bung, xã La Lay, tỉnh Quảng Trị) có vai trò liên quan.
Qua tra hỏi, các nghi phạm khai nhận đã tổ chức đưa những người quốc tịch Lào nhập cảnh trái phép vào Việt Nam để tiếp tục vào TP.HCM tìm kiếm việc làm.
Đồn biên phòng cửa khẩu quốc tế La Lay đã ra quyết định khởi tố vụ án về tội tổ chức cho người khác xuất nhập cảnh trái phép; đồng thời, bàn giao Nghèo, Khanh, Út cho Công an tỉnh Quảng Trị để tiếp tục điều tra, xử lý theo quy định.
