Ngày 20.10, UBND phường Phú Xuân (thành phố Huế) cho biết đơn vị vừa thông báo về việc xác định chủ sở hữu hoặc người quản lý hợp pháp của con trăn đất được người dân phát hiện, bắt giữ trên địa bàn.

Trước đó, ông T.Đ.N (trú tại đường Tăng Bạt Hổ, phường Phú Xuân) phát hiện một con trăn đất đang bò ngoài đường nên bắt giữ, mang đến bàn giao cho Phòng Kinh tế, hạ tầng và đô thị phường Phú Xuân.
Qua kiểm tra, con trăn đất này có trọng lượng 10 kg, tình trạng sức khỏe bình thường. Đây là loài động vật có tên khoa học Python bivittatus, thuộc nhóm IIB trong danh mục động vật rừng nguy cấp, quý, hiếm cần được bảo tồn.
Sau khi tiếp nhận, UBND phường Phú Xuân đã phát thông báo tìm chủ sở hữu hoặc người quản lý hợp pháp của con trăn đất. Trong thời hạn 5 ngày kể từ ngày thông báo, các cá nhân hoặc tổ chức có liên quan cần liên hệ với cơ quan chức năng để làm việc, xác minh quyền sở hữu theo quy định.
Đại diện UBND phường Phú Xuân cho biết sau thời hạn trên, nếu không có ai đến nhận, địa phương sẽ phối hợp với lực lượng kiểm lâm tiến hành xử lý con trăn đất theo quy định của pháp luật, bao gồm các phương án như chăm sóc, thả về môi trường tự nhiên hoặc bàn giao cho trung tâm cứu hộ động vật hoang dã.
