Mưa xối xả kéo dài từ 6 giờ sáng đến trưa ngày 19.9, khiến nhiều tuyến đường ở Vinh (Nghệ An) ngập chìm trong nước, nhiều xe chết máy.

Mưa như trút nước đã khiến nhiều tuyến đường nội thị của đô thị Vinh (TP.Vinh cũ), Nghệ An bị ngập sâu trong nước. Nhiều xe máy, ô tô di chuyển trên đường bị ngập nước, chết máy.

Nước mưa dâng cao, tràn vào tầng hầm một chung cư ở P.Thành Vinh khiến nhiều xe máy để bên trong bị ngập nước. Một cư dân sinh sống ở đây cho biết, trước đó, cửa tầng hầm đã được chắn bằng ván để ngăn nước tràn vào. Tuy nhiên, một chiếc xe bán tải chạy ngang qua gây sóng lớn khiến tấm ván ngăn nước bị hỏng, nước chảy vào tầng hầm như thác.

Một chuyên gia khí tượng thủy văn cho biết, lượng mưa đo được từ 6 giờ đến 12 giờ trưa nay tại khu vực TP.Vinh cũ là 353 mm. Chuyên gia này cũng nhận định đây có thể là trận mưa đạt kỷ lục về cường suất mưa trong 6 tiếng liên tục xảy ra tại Vinh.

Theo dự báo của cơ quan khí tượng, chiều và đêm nay, tại Nghệ An vẫn tiếp tục có mưa lớn.
