Ngày 8.10, ông Huỳnh Ngọc Bá, Chủ tịch UBND phường Quảng Phú (thành phố Đà Nẵng), cho biết lực lượng chức năng cùng người dân địa phương vẫn đang tìm kiếm ông Nguyễn Tấn Dũng (66 tuổi, ở khối phố An Phú, phường Quảng Phú) mất tích sau vụ lật ghe trên sông Trường Giang.
Trước đó, khoảng 15 giờ ngày 7.10, ông Dũng cùng vợ chèo ghe đi cắt cỏ ven sông Trường Giang. Khi 2 vợ chồng đang trên đường trở về thì chiếc ghe bất ngờ bị lật.

Thời điểm xảy ra vụ việc, trên địa bàn có mưa to. Theo lực lượng chức năng, sau khi ghe bị lật, ông Dũng đã cố gắng đẩy vợ bám vào một bao cỏ để bà thoát khỏi dòng nước. Sau đó, do kiệt sức, ông bị nước cuốn chìm.
Vợ ông Dũng cho biết bà không biết bơi, nên bám vào bao cỏ và bị dòng nước cuốn trôi khoảng 250 m. Sau đó, bà được người dân phát hiện, ứng cứu.
Nhận được tin báo, Ban Chỉ huy quân sự phường Quảng Phú đã huy động lực lượng, phối hợp Công an phường và người dân tổ chức tìm kiếm ông Dũng.
Tuy nhiên, do nước sông Trường Giang đang dâng cao, chảy mạnh, việc tìm kiếm gặp nhiều khó khăn. Đến khoảng 12 giờ ngày 8.10, lực lượng chức năng vẫn chưa tìm thấy ông Dũng sau vụ lật ghe.
