Dưới sự chỉ đạo của Giang, các bị can gồm: Nguyễn Việt Thanh (48 tuổi), Nguyễn Thanh Dũng (46 tuổi, cùng ở thành phố Cần Thơ), Ka Dẻh (34 tuổi, ở tỉnh Lâm Đồng) và Xa Thị Mỹ Tiên (49 tuổi, ở tỉnh An Giang) đã cấu kết chặt chẽ, phân chia vai trò cụ thể.
Để tạo lớp vỏ bọc hoàn hảo, các đối tượng tự xưng là chủ hàng, nhà đầu tư lớn hoặc doanh nhân thành đạt.
Tang vật vụ án lừa đảo - dùng đá cuội giả làm "thiên thạch quý hiếm" triệu USD

Nhóm này mang theo những viên đá cuội bình thường nhưng quảng cáo đây là đá thiên thạch quý hiếm có trị giá lên đến hàng triệu USD và có thể phát tài nhanh chóng nếu đầu tư sở hữu.
Bằng thủ đoạn tinh vi, nhắm vào lòng tham và sự thiếu hiểu biết của nạn nhân, nhóm này đã dẫn dụ nhiều người "sập bẫy", ký kết giao dịch rồi lừa đảo chiếm đoạt số tiền lớn. PC02 đang khẩn trương làm rõ tổng số tiền các đối tượng đã chiếm đoạt từ các bị hại qua mua bán đá "thiên thạch".
Căn cứ tài liệu, chứng cứ thu thập được, Cơ quan Cảnh sát điều tra Công an TP.HCM đã ra quyết định khởi tố vụ án, khởi tố bị can và lệnh bắt bị can để tạm giam đối với 5 bị can: Lê Hoàng Giang, Nguyễn Việt Thanh, Nguyễn Thanh Dũng, Ka Dẻh và Xa Thị Mỹ Tiên về tội "lừa đảo chiếm đoạt tài sản".
Công an TP.HCM đang tiếp tục mở rộng điều tra vụ án để xử lý nghiêm.
