Các cán bộ sẽ trực tiếp làm việc tại địa bàn, hỗ trợ công an cấp xã về chuyên môn, nghiệp vụ, đồng thời hướng dẫn, bồi dưỡng và huấn luyện tại chỗ.
Một nhiệm vụ khác là phối hợp giữa công an cấp xã với các phòng nghiệp vụ trong nắm tình hình, quản lý chuyên ngành và xử lý những vấn đề phát sinh từ cơ sở.
Theo thượng tá Hoàng Thị Vân, Phó trưởng phòng Tổ chức cán bộ Công an Hà Nội, cán bộ được tăng cường phải sớm tiếp cận địa bàn, làm việc theo phân công của chỉ huy công an cấp xã và sử dụng kiến thức, kinh nghiệm chuyên môn để hướng dẫn lực lượng tại chỗ theo phương châm "cầm tay, chỉ việc".
Việc điều động không chỉ nhằm bổ sung lực lượng cho công an cấp xã mà còn tạo đầu mối kết nối với các phòng nghiệp vụ. Qua quá trình làm việc tại cơ sở, cán bộ tăng cường có nhiệm vụ ghi nhận những khó khăn, vướng mắc để phối hợp xử lý.
Đợt điều động này nằm trong chủ trương tăng cường năng lực cho công an cấp xã, nhất là về chuyên môn, nghiệp vụ và khả năng xử lý công việc ngay tại địa bàn.
